A Resolution For Every Day

What is a truly sober mind? What is right thinking?
Not fretting over, not caring what others may think about you,
but caring about what God thinks concerning you.

What are the right actions that we should take each day in 2016?
Not actions to please others around us, but actions that honor the Lord God. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delighteth in his way". God made us in His image, in order to reflect His goodness and glory.
Wow! These are impossible marching orders were it not for Christ Jesus, the crucified and risen Savior. He can save to the uttermost those who call upon His Name. Remember Onesimus, the "useless". now and forever known as the useful. An amazing transformation that all true Christians can relate to, and embrace as their own experience.
May our greatest joy in 2016 be this: to please and honor Him Who laid down His life for us, yea, Who was raised to life for us, and even now talks to the Father on our behalf. Hey, now, that is a powerful "joymaker" thought...Jesus talking with God the Father on your behalf!
Halelujah, what a Savior! Hallelujah, what a future that no one can steal from those who are Christ's property and possession!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE!

What to Read!

Okay, here is something most readers do not practice in their reading.

Grab a book that is over and beyond your present knowledge, a difficult book.

Most people read what they already know! They read what agrees with them, or is just a repeat of their storehouse of knowledge. Their mental library would look more like a specialty bookstore that supplies the same subject, level, and opinion.

Read a book from "the other side", you know, those you disagree with, but have no real idea about the person or their real views.

In other words...read a book that will increase your knowledge, that will teach you something new. You may disagree with the author more than before, but at least it will be based upon knowledge.

Suggestion: Read How to Read a Book, by Mortimer Adler.
There are excellent chapters that teach one how to read any kind of book.
This book should be required reading in all high schools.
