The Everyday Gift of Words

45 second reflection...

Words are a gift from God to man. Words are tools used to communicate our thoughts to other people. Without words, we would all be guessing what the other person is trying to communicate. Speaking verbally aloud, using sign language, and Braille all seek to communicate with words. Hold on now. Let us go one step further. When we communicate with words we are sharing what is within our minds, our ideas, our judgements, from trivial to weighty matters. As human beings we wrestle with "finding the right words" to say, and none of us communicates perfectly. This is why dialogue, conversation with one another is so very important. And this is why listening to what another is saying is key to communication. We miss much of what someone is saying, because we don't look for clarity with each other.
Now concerning conversation with God...isn't it great that our God is a talking God? He doesn't just say "Ohmmmmmmmm". God, not man, is the Author of language.
Wrapping this up for today...Genesis 1:3 "And God SAID 'Let there be light'.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the WORD".

Speak Oh God, and let us listen. 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is GOD BREATHED". God still speaks.
