The enemy of God, and of all of God's people, is the devil. The devil is called by many names that identify his ways. He is known as the father of lies, one who is seeking to steal, kill, and destroy, the accuser of the brothers, the deceiver, and other titles. The devil lies to us about God. The devil tries to steal from us what God has given to us. The devil tries to kill and destroy faith in God. The devil accuses, points the finger, and condemns us as we trying to live a godly life.
These are the fiery arrows from the evil one, targeted at us, so that our faith in God is disturbed, and then abandoned.
How do we fight against this enemy of God, and God's people?
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Resist his lies! This is crucial. Fight back with the promises of God. His Word is our weapon. His word, and His promises are our sword. You must take it up---and use it! This is how we exercise our faith.
We hold fast to what God has promised, and anything, any voice, any thought, any contradiction to what God has promised, must be rejected. God's character is never to be in question, and God is always perfect and faithful to His promises.
Here is one for you today.
"Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you."
Never means never! Halelujah, and amen!
