THIS WEEKEND IS A CELEBRATION OF VICTORY FOR THE FORGIVEN FOLLOWERS AND PROCLAIMERS OF CHRIST AS THE ONLY SAVIOR! Let not your hearts be too heavy, O followers of Christ. Jesus, the perfect Man, was accused of being evil, a demon,yes, the Prince of demons, a blasphemer, Yes, He was put to death for his so called evil ways, that is, his proclamation of the truth. He certainly was not put to death for healing people, for feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, or for giving drink to the thirsty. Oh yes, he also raised the dead! No. It was not these acts of kindness or displays of divine power. He was offensive and condemned because of His words, even claiming to be God! He even called his opposers "children of the devil". That will get you into trouble! Jesus said "Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” How much more easily the enemies of Christ aim their animosity to attack us, lay charge to us who proclaim His truth, who are far from perfect, sinners saved entirely by grace, as we live out as His ambassadors, his representatives on this earth. Yet, "do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." And let us hold on to this; yes, remember this one thing! In Christ, those who have been born again by His Spirit have the victory! This is what the resurrection is all about! Christ is our Head, we are His body, and He is victorious. As one old saint said of Christ "Once the head passes through the thornbush of death, then there is full assurance that He will bring the whole body through it as well. Hallelujah!
