Some wise counsel for church leaders in dealing with conflict.

Imagine what might have been, and what might become of churches that have conflict,  and,
INSTEAD OF HOLDING ANGER AND QUARRELING---

I.       Listen to, trust, and obey the word of God that we preach and esteem.

1 Timothy 2:8
"I desire then that in every place the men should pray,
lifting holy hands,  without anger or quarreling;"

II.     PRAY  TOGETHER, LIFTING HOLY HANDS  (Worship!)

III.     DO NOT HOLD TO  ON TO YOUR ANGER. (Put it off)

IV.     DO NOT QUARREL WITH EACH OTHER. (Put it off)

Notice the link of what we ought to be doing, and what we ought NOT to be doing.
The whole idea here is that we ought to replace quarreling and anger with praying together and worshipping together.
This does not prohibit dialogue but must precede any dialogue or discussion concerning conflict.
Unfortunately, the normal practice is a token 30 second prayer or five minutes of prayer as a prelude, then onto the conflict.

We rely upon our debating and dialogue prowess, rather than upon communion with God, and the work of the Holy Spirit.  When this occurs, God is not a partner in the process.
